Olympiad Training Programs

Available in 2008

The Schools of Biology, Chemistry and Physics provide training for students who wish to take the National Qualifying Exam (NQE) in an effort to gain a place in one of the Australian Science Olympiad teams which compete internationally. The last decade has seen the Australian team produce many medal-winners at the International Science Olympiad Competitions.

The training program offers valuable tuition and resources and is conducted by University teaching staff in the Schools of Biology, Chemistry and Physics with a vast amount of experience in the area. The program has had a great deal of success with many participants going on to represent Australia in International Olympiad Teams and becoming medal winners.

International Olympiad medal winners and participants are highly sought after by universities and employers alike. In fact, the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney recognises the achievements of Olympiad medal winners by offering Olympiad Scholarships. To be eligible for these scholarships applicants must have been a medalist in an International Science Olympiad (other criteria also apply).

In 2008 the Olympiad Training Programs run from May to August. The links below will give you an indication of what the programs involve:
