I didn't get the ATAR I was hoping for - what now?

If you didn't get the ATAR you were hoping for, it's not the end of the world! There are other ways to study your subject of interest within the Faculty of Science at Sydney:

Bachelor of Science (BSc) can get you there!

If you have applied for a specialist degree which has an ATAR above the Bachelor of Science (BSc), you might consider the BSc as an alternative entry pathway. After completing one year of studies in the BSc, it is possible to apply for a transfer to another science degree.

Flexible entry

The flexible entry scheme is intended for current HSC applicants whose ATAR may fall up to five points below the normal cut-off for entry into certain courses. Applicants who are approved for admission under this scheme must have demonstrated their aptitude for the course of their choice.

Other options

The University of Sydney website also has some information on other options available to students who haven't met the ATAR requirements for the course they wish to do.
