Master of Veterinary Public Health

The Master of Veterinary Public Health (MVPH) is run entirely as a distance program, requiring no visits to Sydney. It is focused on the development of high-level technical skills and is designed for busy people, working full time.

Overview

Offered in conjunction with the Veterinary Public Health Management program and the Faculty of Medicine’s Master of Public Health, the MVPH covers technical areas of preventative veterinary medicine and public health. Highly suitable for those unable to visit Sydney, the program will allow you to develop skills in veterinary epidemiology, biostatistics, advanced data analysis, animal health economics and a range of other related areas. The program is offered at Graduate Certificate (GradCertVPH), Graduate Diploma (GradDipVPH) and Masters levels. Honours [MVPH(Hons)], requiring additional research, is also available. As a student in this program, you will join the growing network of animal health professionals in the veterinary public health management program and gain contact with colleagues and experts from around the world.

University of Sydney Advantage

World-class quality course materials are supplemented by access to a wide range of experts in a collaborative online environment.

In this program, students are inspired by core and elective unit material, develop a wide professional network, build close friendships with like-minded professionals, access expertise from the University of Sydney and other internationally renowned organisations and acquire a prestigious University of Sydney program. All this is done while you work, so you can fit it into your existing lifestyle and responsibilities.

Program Expectations

When you complete this program, you will be able to contribute your expertise to the prevention, detection and control of disease in a range of contexts. All graduates will have applied and theoretical technical skills in veterinary public health, with an eye on the policy framework and changing context in which veterinary public health professionals operate.

This program is delivered by distance using collaborative online classrooms, facilitated by an expert in each subject area.
